Girls ONLY weekend getaway Part 1

Last weekend my sister, birdie and I all went to Gatlinburg, TN to have a girls only weekend getaway and to do some scrapbooking.  So we rented a cabin/house and just enjoyed our time together.  These weekends are something the my sister and I look forward to every couple of months, to be able to catch up and make new memories. I hope that our relocating to Illinois will not stop these weekend trips to see each other.  So with out further wait I will show you a few pictures from our trip, I say a few cause I only took about 325 pictures all together while we where there.  So here you go.  We will start with a tour of the house first.

Of course this is where we chose to shop

Of course after shopping there we needed fuel again so we chose this place of course
We then decided we needed a few pictures with this sign (thank you Becky for turning around to go take them)

New Adventures Coming Our Way

Well a few days ago we found out that in a few months we are going to be relocating to Chicago, well a suburb around there anyways.  The husband got a new job where he will be home everyday so I am very excited about that for our family.  Of course I am not all excited about the packing and sorting that has to be done but it will all be worth it.  I know that after 5 years of dealing with him traveling and having to do everything at home basically by myself I am ready for us to actually be a family. With everything going on I would love if my dad was here for me to talk to see how he feels about everything.  So I asked for a sign to know that he would approve of this whole new adventure for my family.  Well I do believe that I got that sign.  I had to call my school academic adviser to schedule a break in my classes for our big move.  So I am going to stop my classes on June 6th and I will resume my studies on July 5.  I know that may not seem like a sign to some people but, it is to me.  As some would know on July 5th, 2007 is when we had my dads memorial service.  So I would have to say that I think this is my sign from my daddy saying that he is ok with our move.  I will try to keep everyone updated on our progress to packing and sorting everything to get ready for our future move.

Time for a change

With the new year starting just a few days ago people make resolutions for things that they want to change about their lives for the new year. So I look at myself and say what do you want to change about yourself for the new year?  Is it something that you want to change that you do everyday, once a month, or sometimes two times a year?  Is this change going ot just benefit myself or something that my family is going to benefit from? So many questions that I can not answer right now.  I know that life doesn't seem so bad right now, of course there is plenty of things I would love to change to make my life a little easier.  Then of course there are things that I can not change at the moment and I just have to let them change over time. So I am going to work on a few things and I hope to update on hear my progress to how I am doing throughout the year ahead that I am really looking forward to.
1. Work on saving more money
2. Keep my checkbook balanced
3. Take better care of myself
4. Clean up some of my piles
5. Keep my internet time to a minimum

We will start with these and then go from there. So stay tuned to how I am doing.

Thanksgiving Part 3 Time to eat

Thanksgiving this year was going to be the first time I have had Thanksgiving with my grandparents since Thanksgiving 2000 when Birdie was just 9 months old.  So I figured since Birdie is now 10 it was only due time to go and have a holiday with them and the rest of our family.  So as I previously posted my sister and I thought this was the best year to do this holiday together.  So while I went and picked up my mom from her house, my husband and sister got lunch ready.  On the way to get my mom I stopped by and saw my Godmother since it had been some while since I had seen her. Then Laura and I went and got my mom and headed back to the house. By the time we got back to the house my grandparents where there and Becky and Forrest where almost done with the food. So the rest of us where able to just relax and enjoy each others company.  Here is some pictures from our Turkey day that was long over due.
