Day 4 My Friends

Wow where do I start on this one.
To myself a friend is a person that is there day or night no matter what time of day it is. They don't ask anything of you than to be there for them as they are for you. Growing up I thought everyone was my friend and yet I guess I just never really understood what that meant to call someone a friend. My husband taught me that your real friends can be counted on one hand and those are the ones you can always depend on, the others are just acquaintances.  Over the years I have learned that people will come in and out of your life and they may stay for a season or for a lifetime but they all have a purpose. Just as we have seasons with the weather you will find some people are just the same. When it starts to get ugly outside they hide and you don't hear from them until they need something. BUT thankfully I have been blessed with a few friends that have been with me through my storms and sunny days. Of course all my friends know I can have a tornado of a life sometimes. So to all my friends that have been with me THANK YOU sooooo much I am not sure where I would be without each of you. I hope that I can repay all of you for what you have done. I love each and everyone of you well okay some more than others LOL.
Hope you all enjoyed this post.

Day 2 of my 30 day challenge: The Meaning Behind My Name

Well if you go online my names means.
Amanda is a name derived from Latin, meaning "worthy of love." In the latter part of the seventeenth century, the freshness of Restoration drama in England included the creation of bright new character names, especially for women. Most of them had a Latin root. Amanda made its first appearance in this way, later turning up in romantic poetry and novels.

Amanda (or AMANDA) may refer to one of several things.

In entertainment
"Amanda," a popular song by arena rock band Boston.
Amanda, a 1984 novel by Candice F. Ransom.
the Amanda, a movie award given annually at the Norwegian International Film Festival in Haugesund, Norway.
The Amanda Show, a comedy/variety television program starring Amanda Bynes that aired on the children's television channel Nickelodeon from 1999 to 2002.

Places
Amanda, Ohio
Amanda Park, Washington

But according to my mother the song Amanda by the rock band Boston was playing when she went into labor and that is how I was named. Well at least that is what I have always been told.  Here are the songs lyrics;

Amanda Lyrics
Artist(Band):Boston

Babe, tomorrow's so far away
There's something I just have to say
I don't think I can hide what I'm feelin' inside
Another day, knowin' I love you
And I, I'm getting too close again
I don't want to see it end
If I tell you tonight will you turn out the light
And walk away knowin' I love you?

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize, Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away,
I can't wait another day, Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand, Amanda
I love you

And I feel like today's the day
Lookin' for the words to say
Do you wanna be free, are you ready for me
To feel this way
I don't wanna lose you
So, it may be too soon, I know
The feeling takes so long to grow
If I tell you today will you turn me away
And let me go?
I don't wanna lose you

I'm gonna take you by surprise
And make you realize, Amanda
I'm gonna tell you right away,
I can't wait another day, Amanda
I'm gonna say it like a man
And make you understand, Amanda
Oh girl

You and I
I know that we can't wait
And I swear, I swear it's not a lie girl
Tomorrow may be too late
You, you and I girl
We can share a life together
It's now or never
And tomorrow may be too late

And, feelin' the way I do
I don't wanna wait my whole life through
To say I'm in love with you

I just love this song.

DAY 1 of my 30 day challenge. MY FAVORITE QUOTE

Day one is going to be about my favorite quote which is :
"To the whole world you might be just one person, but to one person you might just be the whole world."(unknown)

This quote to me means that even though I am just one person in this universe where there is many people. I just might be the one person the matters to a certain person. It could be a mom to my children, that friend who is there when you need someone to talk to, or even the wife to a husband who loves her. So when I am feeling down and like I don't matter I tell myself that there is someone out there that I matter a lot to and that is enough to brighten my day and make me know that all will be okay. There are those special people that I have that if no one else in this world could care about them I want them to know that I care about them. Every one matters in my life for a certain reason, as well as everyone has a purpose in my life at some time or another. I hope that this all made since to that special person whom is my whole world.

First Day of School

So this year the babies grew up on us and the oldest Birdie started the 6th grade which is very hard for me to grasp the concept that she is old enough to go to a middle school. Our youngest Boogie started the 1st grade and that was a big day for mommy to know that he was growing up and would survive at a school without his sister. Both of the kids really enjoyed their first days of school and even made new friends. Thankfully mommy was able to take them both to school. But I only have pictures of Birdie before we left the house because when we got to the school she said "Please mom no pictures" so mommy listened and left the camera in the car and we took her inside to meet her teacher and leave her with 1200 other kids in this big school. GUESS WHAT? She survived and had a great day and had lots of stories even though she was only at school for half a day. I hope she will be excitied to go to school everyday. After we dropped her off Boogie and I took off to his school where he lined up with the rest of his class and when it was time he followed his teacher to class and left mommy with the other mommies as we all watched our babies embark on a great school year. So enough of my words i will now leave you with the pictures from that day and I hope you enjoy them.

Unaccompanied minors

I know I am so far behind on my blogs but I do hope to get better. The kids made it to AZ safely and had a good time. They also have since made it back home. They were ready to come home after being gone all of June and then coming to the new home for 2 weeks to leave again for 1 week was a lot of traveling for these to kids. But they had a lot of fun and made great memories and the best part both sets of grandparents said they would let them come back. So here are pictures from when they left to AZ and when they came home.

My sisters visit to Chicago

I know this is a little late but hey I have a busy life LOL. My sissy came to visit me and hubby about 2 weeks ago. So that she could tour Chicago and just have time with me. When she came she had a list of things that she wanted to complete, and I think we came pretty close to completing the list. Let's see if we did or not.
Beckys List
1. Kate Spade Outlet = Yes
2. Sear Tower (which is now the Willis Tower) = Yes and have pictures to prove it

   My sissy
   Us
My sissy, my hubby, and myself
 My sissy, myself, and Nancy

3. See Giant Bean = Yes (have pictures to prove that as well.

 Standing under the bean

4. See Millennium Park = Yes (got pictures to prove that too)
